Between the Pages

I dwell between the pages
Where only that which binds is in existence
And only those who read me
Offer any resistance

To the ways in which
I fan my words out from my very center
And speak my heart as if it’s there
For anyone to enter

Those who don’t dig in
Will never take offense
Because they are so caught up
In a what-meets-the-eye pretense

They will never be aware of what
I’m holding together
Or how I’ve come to resist
This constant stormy weather

They don’t know my words
Or the way in which I speak
They aren’t aware of how you’ve built
Strength from pages that once were weak

I dwell between the pages
To see who is willing to look
Beyond the cover, beneath the pages,
Of my simple book.

  2. This

    is

    amazing!

I especially like the "speak my heart" part in the second stanza. I feel like I can really relate to that.
