African Placement ... Take III.

Let me share with you a little piece of information I received today.

Dear Rachel,
I just got an immediate response back from the Int'l School of Moshi (Arusha Campus) saying that they are happy to place you. So I asked them to send me the official confirmation and when I get that I will let you know. Don't do anything until we get the confirmation but it looks like you are going to Tanzania.
Al ( <---- The "placement guy")

I wonder what God is scheming up because I specifically requested that I student teach at a Christian school... where I could find Christ-centered comfort and support... and this is a secular international school.

Here is the website for the school I {might} be student teaching at next fall. (Emphasis on might... since I have learned nothing is ever certain with this whole placement ordeal...)

While I am trying not to get too excited (lest my emotions fly up in a whirlwind if something goes wrong again... ) ... I will readily admit this place looks like heaven on earth to me. A little quote I loved to read from the website is this: "Whilst we do not have all the facilities of a first world city, we also escape from many of the difficulties of living in a developed metropolis. Both of ISM's campuses are outside the towns in quiet and secluded surroundings."

Hmm... is it just me, or is that just what I've been looking for?!

Okay okay... but like I said, I'm not getting too excited. : )

(Prays: Please God, let this be it... but first, let Your will be done.) Will you pray for me?

  1. Rachel, I wait to congratulate you on your new placement. But in the light of things, it is funny how God works. Keep your mind open and you might surprise yourself. (Not like i need to tell you that... but)

Looks like it could be a great place to be.

Wow, this comment sounds so crappy... well I am tired.. ha ah So that explains it... he he

  2. Hey Rach, I forgot that you had a blog and was spending time catching up on everything you've written(which is a lot!!!) As I read this and the one previously I'm def. excited to see what God is doing for you. While I am also disappointed that you aren't going to Kenya for your teaching, because I love that place, I am greatfull that you are able to go overseas for your teaching.

    Philippians 4:5-7...
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
